Spied: Mystery wagon/crossover

Mystery Car
Clueless? So am I. Here's a spy shot of an unknown station wagon or crossover car that was caught in South Korea.

The location alone says that it is probably a Korean car, as foreign manufacturers rarely test future cars in the country. In comparison to the Hyundai Sonata parked beside it, the car looks to be fairly large. The length of the car also implies that it might be a 7-seater like the Subaru Exiga. The grille is not alike any corporate grilles from Korean makers. The oval badge is reminiscent of Hyundai or Kia's. The mule also sports Mercedes-Benz AMG styled wheels.

Other than the information above, I am about as confounded as you. Have any insight on what this might be? Post a comment after the jump.

It could be the Hyundai Portico or the Hyundai HED-5/i-mode. The 2.2 litre CRD R-Diesel engine is expected to launch next year so could it be testing the engine?

Then this must be new Santa Fe which will be coming out in few years because Hyundai said that the new Santa Fe will have larger body than this.

From the looks of it, this looks to be a Trajet replacement or the Portico. It cannot be the Santa Fe because it is too low and it does not resemble a sport-utility vehicle; moreso, a 7-seater crossover in the likes of the Subaru Exiga and Cadillac SRX. Thanks for your thoughts.

This looks like a midcycle refresh of the Kia Rondo.

Another guess is the Hyundai Genus which is set to be released in 2009

I think it is Proton MPV...

Since when did Proton start testing in South Korea? The Proton MPV that was revealed on television had a boxy appearance with straight lines, longer and shaper front headlamps aswell.
