2012 Hyundai Accent (RB): New Spy Shots Emerge

2012 Hyundai AccentThis time, rocking in an alluring tone of red. Truth be told, we have very little information on Hyundai's upcoming redesign for the subcompact Accent. The current generation Accent, sold as the Verna in South Korea and various other markets, has been on sale since 2005. Thus, within Hyundai's rapidly changing line-up, the soldiering Accent is becoming more and more out of place amongst its siblings and a complete overhaul seems to be of reason. And judging by the brand's recent wave of impressive rollouts, the all-new Accent will be another proof that the Hyundai of today should be a force to be reckoned with.

From the spy shots, it is very apparent that the redesigned Accent is essentially a miniaturized counterpart of the YF Sonata. Another embodiment of Hyundai's new "Fluidic Sculpture" design scheme, the RB Accent incorporates a steeper windshield rake, stretched headlamps, sleek side profile, short front & rear overhangs, and a short boot deck. The side window profile is a familiar sight from the current Elantra, YF Sonata, and the upcoming redesigned Elantra (MD), and side mirrors with turn signals add a touch of elegance.

With regards to the upcoming Accent's powertrain line-up, we have no information. The RB Accent is tentatively scheduled for release in early 2011 as a 2012 model. Stay tuned for more information and images as they become available to us.

I love my "09 SE hatch, so I say "bring it on". I would definately consider
buying a new version.....if I can get a three-door that is.

As long as these images have not been taken through trespassing into prohibited areas, they are perfectly legal.

The Veloster Hatch will replace the Traditional 3 Door version of the Accent and the Tiburon. The Accent will get 140 HP with Direct injection, a 176 HP Turbo, and a Hybrid.

The Current Gen model is barely smaller than a Soul, and that Orange KIA Soul next to it seems smaller than the Next Gen Accent this time. The Accent must ce moving up to C Segment.

I guess GM/Daewoo tests their cars their too, because the gray hatch next to the Accent is a Chevy Spark.

The Dash will have an in Dash Screen in the Gauge Pod, instead of the traditonal Needled Gauge pods. It will have leather, Cruise, etc....

Pretty much it will share tech with the i20, which Car and Driver calls a small Luxury car that's a value over the Audi A2, even if the A2 has a better interior.

If Hyundai is going to become a new low cost luxury alternative, then thats the kind of equippment they must offer on all cars, including the Accent.

They are illegal. I know because it was me. I cut through 3 fences, fought off 2 German Shepherds and bribed one of the guards to get that close.
