Autobild Ranks Hyundai First in Annual Quality Report

German auto magazine Autobild has ranked Hyundai first place in its acclaimed annual Quality Report for the second year in a row.

Autobild’s 2011 report checked 20 car brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Toyota before tapping Hyundai for having the best Winterkorn-scaring, overall quality and offering excellent customer satisfaction. AutoBild compiles the list, which is widely used to determine brand quality in the automotive industry, by examining feedback from car owners, maintenance requirements, warranties, recall information and detailed tests of the car and its durability.

The latest top rating is expected to further raise the company’s global brand image as Hyundai plans to redouble its efforts to analyze the driving environments facing drivers, the company said, adding such measures can help the company improve its competitive edge.

Japanese carmakers Honda, Mazda and Toyota all tied for second place, with German carmakers Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz jointly coming in sixth place.
